ABOUT

Upon finishing her education at UC Berkeley, Jennifer Anne continued showcasing her work throughout the Bay Area.

After many years of honing in on her abstract art methods, she began to come across ancient stories and legends which brought her back into the realms of representational art.

In 2015, she began studying the ancient stories of Atlantis and everywhere they have led: from flora and fauna, to the architecture, and the geography of the stories of the ancient cities of Mt. Shasta, Atlantis, Egypt, and Mu.

In 2023, she was honored to be accepted into the Artist Residency program at Chateau d'Orquevaux in the Champagne region of France, and to receive the Denis Diderot Grant and the Emerging Artist Grant. There, she began her next series exploring the myths of the sirens depicted in Homer's Odyssey.

As an artist, I strive to create immersive and captivating visual narratives that bring ancient myths and allegories to life. My passion for storytelling and the desire to explore these timeless tales through a fresh lens have led me to my latest series, which focuses on the Sirens from a female perspective. By delving deeper into their story beyond the negative portrayal that has been perpetuated by their jilted lovers, I aim to challenge the conventional ideas surrounding these mythic figures and offer a new perspective on their character. Through this series, I hope to create a sense of wonder and enchantment that resonates with viewers and inspires them to see these legends in a new light.
